|January 31||Deadline for employers to send employees their W-2 Forms.|
Deadline for businesses to report non-employee compensation, bank interest, dividends, distributions from retirement plans, etc. in the appropriate 1099 Forms.
|February 18||Deadline for financial institutions to send:|
|February 28||Deadline for businesses to send Forms 1099 and 1096 to the IRS|
|March 16||Deadline for corporate tax returns for the year 2019: Forms 1120, 1120-A and 1120-S.|
Deadline for corporations that use the calendar year as their tax year to request a six-month extension using Form 1004.
Deadline to file partnership tax returns (Form 1065).
Deadline to request an automatic five-month extension (Form 7004).

Deadline to request an automatic six-month extension (Form 4868) for filing; tax payment is still due April 15.
Deadline for last contribution to a traditional IRA, Roth IRA, Health Savings Account, SEP-IRA, or solo 401(k) for the 2019 tax year, excluding payments made to a SEP-IRA or solo 401(k) before October 15 for those granted an extension.
Deadline for payment of first-quarter estimated tax for the tax year 2020.
Deadline to file estate income tax or trust income tax returns (Form 1041).
Deadline to request an automatic five-month extension for filing (Form 7004).

|October 15||Deadline for those granted an extension to file individual tax returns for the year 2019 (Form 1040); final extended deadline.|
Deadline for filing an electronic tax return with the IRS for the year 2019; only mail-in forms accepted beyond this date.
Deadline for those granted an extension to fund a SEP-IRA or solo 401(k) for the tax year 2019; final extended deadline.
What If I Miss a Deadline?
If you fail to meet a deadline, you will most likely be charged a financial penalty. Should this happen, file your return as soon as possible and apply for a payment plan immediately thereafter. The IRS is usually willing to work with you to reach an arrangement.
